What is the prospect’s strategy and ambitions?
Strategy
• Last year turnover showed a 3% increase because of continued investment in the product range, E-commerce platform and store portfolio.
• The company invested in the development of new products to extend its range, its E-commerce platform, and store portfolio.
• The company monitors a range of key performance indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis to manage the business, enable timely decision making and to react quickly to a rapidly changing trading environment. Particular attention is paid to weekly KPIs and trading information with variances to budget and forecasts for individual product ranges and channels to market being reviewed. The two primary KPIs are turnover and EBITDA (Earnings before interest, Tax, Depreciation and amortisation).
• The management remains cognisant of the UK retail market, competitor activity and consumer behaviours in order to react and make the correct decisions required to satisfy customers and drive the business forward.
• The board of the company is supportive of the longer-term strategy that has been put in place by the executive team.
• The directors review and agree policies for managing currency risk, liquidity risk and credit risk.
Currency risk: To manage the risk the company arranges currency forward contracts once the buy for each season is complete.
Liquidity risk: The company manages risk by regularly forecasting future cashflows and monitoring banking facilities to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet the Company’s financial obligations for the foreseeable future. Short-term flexibility is achieved by way of committed working capital facility.
Credit risk: The company’s principal financial assets are cash and trade debtors.
Credit risk associated with cash balances is managed by the company monitoring the financial position of the counter-parties involved.
In order to manage credit risk arising from trade debtors, the directors set limits for customers based on a combination of payment history and size of account. Credit limits are reviewed on a regular basis in conjunction with dept ageing and collection history, and credit limits are adjusted on a regular basis.

Customer Reviews:
1. Oct 23, 2020
“Had to return jeans and pay in excess of £4 postage. Items are weighed and valued at the post office. Not a good policy to charge for returns during this pandemic compared to similar companies. The quality of clothing I have bought is very good but I won’t be ‘chancing’ an item again due to previous reviews and experience of paying for returns. Concerned now as to how long before I get my refund as per other customers experience.”
2. Aug 31, 2020
“Lovely shops, and clothes, staff always very helpful but so far I have waited 17 days for a refund and still counting….to add insult to injury if you post the returned item back you have to pay, I have contacted customer service and given them the post office tracking details and I’m still waiting for my refund….not great service.”

Employee Doesn’t Recommend Company
Negative Outlook
Worked at Crew Clothing Company part-time (More than 3 years)

Lack of leadership from management and head office.

Take more time when employing management and understanding what the individual store needs from a manager.
Better communication between stores and head office.
Rewarding employees for their hard work rather than taking it for granted.
Create clothes that are new and exciting, whilst keeping the “Crew favourites”
(bretons, shirts and sweats) other competitors are doing this really well and customers don’t want to see the same thing every year.
6. Current Employee – Anonymous Employee
Working at Crew Clothing Company part-time
Pros
Good staff discount, uniform allowance. Great team and environment
Cons
Very hard to get any pay increase even when expected to cover store in Managements absence & day off
Advice to Management
Reward staff more and look at pay increases for long term serving, loyal staff, even a small amount will show staff they are appreciated
7. Former Employee – Anonymous Employee
Employee Doesn’t Recommend Company
I worked at Crew Clothing Company part-time
Pros
My immediate team were all lovely people.
Cons
HR were extremely difficult to deal with. I had not been given one of my payslips and it took SIX MONTHS of emailing back and forwards before I was given access to it.
I had other issues, which I tried to take up with HR but I simply never got a response.
Overall it was more stress than it was worth. (Not a penny more than minimum wage despite the hours of travelling to and from their difficult working locations).
