What is the prospect’s strategy and ambitions?
Strategy
• COVID-19 Risk Mitigation through governmental support packages
The company has experienced positive downturn in COVID-19 risk and exposure.
As per the company’s latest Annual Report (2021), the business will continue to follow government guidelines and legislation and when required take advantage of the governments support packages including any available grants.
• Brexit Impact ongoing monitoring
The board believe that the business has managed the new regulations and the consequent cost increases well and the risks are deemed low. However, the management team continue to be aware of all the current changes to legislation.
• Focus on materials supply management due to price fluctuations
The upturn in global demand for timber in 2021 created a rapid increase in the price of this material and other critical materials. The business has needed to track these price fluctuations to be able to sustain commercial gross profit margin rate and manage the challenges to source adequate supply. The demand has now reduced and subsequently the company is now experiencing a significant reduction in material costs which will allow the business to track selling price and remain competitive within the market.
• Quality oriented
• Their specialised factory workforce are dedicated and fully committed to manufacturing our buildings to an exceptionally high standard, each member of production having passed their internal manufacturing and quality control standard review.
• Organisational Adaptability
TGB Sheds are a progressive, forward-thinking company, who can adapt to changes in the environment and the economy as and when necessary.
Ambitions
• Focus on product development and company expansion:
In 2011, TGB Sheds (Scotland) was formed to give a full service of delivery and installation of TGB Shed’s portfolio.
• Maintaining their established competitive position in the garden buildings market
Who are the prospect's customers?
TGB (Scotland) have agents that sell their buildings throughout the UK.
TGB Sheds only supply to approved trade stockists only, this decision was taken to give all their retail agents exclusivity in their particular area. Their end-clients are mainly individuals, but they could also be businesses willing to invest in their building surrounding area (hotels/ business offices with gardens, restaurants etc.)

“Installation.
I had no problem with the shed manufacturer, but only with their Agent who was not properly informed of some technical details. The installation was carried out properly and the shed sturdy and well made.”

Review Text:
“We ordered a playhouse for our daughter in January as the company we bought the playhouse from (GBC Southampton) were offering free fitting. The playhouse was everything that we wanted for our daughter. As COVID had scuppered our holiday plans, we decided to spend that money on the play house. It was expensive but looked very well made at the showroom.
Approximately £2800 later & having paid nearly £600 for a patio made to measure, we had a delivery within 3 weeks. When it was delivered the rain was pouring. The two men proceeded anyway despite the torrential rain. Not only did they bring the wrong side panel, they did not bring the central roof tiles or other key parts.
[..] There are many other issues but I will go into the customer service.
[…] I had to take a day off work because there is little to no flexibility around the customer’s availability & 1 man came down to “fix” the playhouse. The man who arrived did a job on the minor problems but it was clear from his demeanour that he felt that what he had been assigned to do was a complete waste of time. Nevertheless, he was told to do what he needed to do. I get told every time I call that Graham (managing director) wants a face-to-face meeting with the fitter. Graham does not seem to work past 4:30pm or Fridays so this is difficult. I have called TGB almost every day since the 13th April. It has reached the point when all I have to do is say my name & it is clear who I am. So many times, I have been promised a call by the end of the day to update me on the issue but only ever had one call. Whenever I speak with someone, I get an excuse and reassurance that there will be a meeting with the managing director to discuss the issue. It has been over a month since the latest report was submitted.I call every day. Another week goes by with no updates, false promises & a nearly £3000 playhouse that we cannot use, 4 months after it was fitted.”

“Enjoyable role.
“I worked at TGB for 2 years and it was the best I ever had.
I worked on the retail fitters teams (installing sheds/summerhouses) and you get to see the whole country! Most days were like a day out.
If you are afraid of work then this is not the job for you, but you get out what you put in. I saved enough money for a house deposit in 4 months!
All the fitters are great to work with and very helpful.
Management REALLY look after you if you have a can do attitude. I can’t thank them enough.
I only left as I decided to go self- employed in another role. If things didn’t work out I’d definitely go back.
Over all 10/10”
Pros
“Earning potential and people.”

“Horrendous and stressful.
Line managers and management complain if you leave before work is complete. Although on my induction I was told that 6-4 is a sufficient shift and I was only contracted to 6-2 but team leader said he’s not happy with me leaving at 4. If you leave at 4, the next day, management will tell you off. 10 hours is a sufficient shift.”
Pros
“Sandwich shop nearby.”
Cons
“Long days, start off on low wage.”
